And we're off!

Posted by Shortie Williams on May 7, 2017 at 4:00 AM

Summer is off to a fair start. A little quiet but OK for the first week.
The weather has been brill and although we went in the sea 3 weeks ago (it was bloody freezing then) apparently it has warmed up nicely.
Today is a little cloudy as was yesterday and if it is anything like yesterday it turned out to be a corker! Hope so.
Last week Jules sister and her fella turned up for the Cosy Corner open day party.
The party was a blast as usual although the weather was a bit off that day, not enough to spoil anything though. A great turnout and loads of live music. A party to get us in the mood for the summer.
The day after the party we took ourselves off to Keri. it's a place that we often go to chill ever since Nickos took us there before moving here. I love to just sit and watch the world turn there!

Great place for a chill.
Both the Cosy Corner and the Roadhouse are open for the summer season and believe me there was a lot of work to do!
Because the Roadhouse was open all winter it just needed a few upgrades and a lick of paint here and there.

Andrew, the new boss at the Roadhouse doing his bit.
The Roadhouse is open from 3pm everyday but Friday when it is open from 1pm for Click Bingo and quiz, So if you want to see Andy and of course Chef Dan then please pop along.

A great meal in La Caretta before the season starts and we can't get there, followed by a few swift drinks in Cuba bar last week made a perfect end to the winter season. Now all but one or two places are open and I'm sure it won't be long before they are all open.
The recycling thing is going well in Alykanas and Alykes, although there is a shortage of bins at the moment but the streets are clean and clear of rubbish while we wait for the local autorities to get the new system into place. They are making big efforts all over the island to clear any backlog and of course resorts and the town have priority.
I haven't been to any other resorts but I can assure you if they are anything like Alykanas and Alykes, oh, and Keri, they are operating well and all is clean and clear. Keep up the effort guys!
Anyway, must get going, first Sunday of the winter! and guess who has to cook!
Steak night was a success as usual and getting booked quite well for most of the season.
Hope it is a sign of a good summer.
Really looking forward to a few days at the beach this year and it won't be long before friends get here to join us.

A quick update on the kitten. This pic was over a week ago, will get a couple of updated ones soon.
He's a little cracker and growing fast. Jules treats him like a baby, I suppose he is in many ways, but you know what I mean. He sleeps through the night now so no more 3 hourly feeds.
All good for the little fellah!
Anyway, have a great day and speak soon.
