Quite uncharacteristically it is 24th July and it has clouded over and looking like rain. The wind is high and it is so muggy it needs to rain to clear the air.
It actually seems to be passing though, but, boy it is so humid at night.

This season has been the hottest we have experienced and we even hear many locals agreeing, but that is what it is all about. That is one of the reasons you come here! I Know it is hot in the UK at the moment and it is great reading on the chatroom and places that you are spending a bit of quality time in your gardens, lighting the BBQ and stuff, I hope you get time to enjoy it. I remember those summer days were so important and the rareity of a sunny weekend in the UK was magic! Enjoy it, from what I've heard of the weather, you deserve it.
We've had a good few of you over the past couple of weeks staying at the Pothos, Alykes and I really appreciate the fact that you make the effort to come over and see us. I don't expect you to eat or even drink, but to pop your head in and let us know you are here means a lot to us especially if we haven't met before. Don't forget, if you are in to introduce yourslves, it is difficault sometimes to know who people are by their pictures and sometimes we get people with no profile picture complaining after their holiday that I never said hi! C'mon guys! We had another bad review on Trip Advisor saying we were terrible hosts and ignorant people! I don't get it! Oh well, that's the way some people are. I bet they don't get spoken to in every restaurant they eat in!! But do they bother to write a Trip Advisor review?
We had Raymie185 in just the other night with all his family and he was good enough to make himself known to me and Jules. I wouldn't have got him from his profile piccie.

And the family! You can see the resemblance, but i wouldn't have recognised Ray from the picture. Mum Jacqueline and daughters rebecca and Emily are pictured here too. Nice to meet you guys.
         
The Saving family, with Laura in the middle here, returned again this year, but their holiday went so quick and we have been a bit busy with staff down and all, that we didn't get to speak much and now they're gone!! Sorry guys, next time, another bad review!! lol. As long as you enjoyed your holiday, we are happy and I'm sure you did.
         
Sally Seaside (middle) and hubby John (Right) popped down for a meal the other night with some friends and the guy on the left shocked me a little!! and here's why!
By the way Sally. I was quite rightly told off when you and John left as standing at the bar was Evertonian (Alan) from shortieweb and the boards. I always try to introduce members, but was still in shock from this encounter!! Anyway, here's why!

The Hull mob landed at the Cosy last night and they were mob handed. 13 came down to celebrate shortieweb's Gary (hiding between the 2 girls) and Wendy's (front and right) 19th wedding anniversary pre organised by Zoe (zobyd) (front and centre) and hubby Mark (left) pictured with a few of the crowd here. I told Gary that the knife I handed him to cut the cake was sharp, he said " Do you think it is wise giving me that after 19 years" Nice!
         

Last night for Rab B form shortieweb and the boards. It was fantastic meeting him and his wife Jane. They sat with val and Roy who have been eating here for as long as we've been open during their holidays and always stay in Alykes. Both couple staying at the Pothos this year but still coming down to see us. I know it's not far Alykes to Alykanas, but it is while you are on holiday and just popping out for a meal. Thanks again guys, great to meet you and we'll see Val and Roy again tonight as they still have some of their holiday left.
         
Geraldine and daughter. They have managed tp keep this table practically every night of their holiday and it won't be the same tonight without them there. Lovely to meet you guys and hope we see you again.

Cosy Corner Special Last Night - Pulled Pork. Cannot believe how well this goes. It has been a great hit for us and i enjoy it as well! oh and all the rest of the staff too!! if there is any left.
        
We now serve a Pulled pork Gyros. Fantastic it is too!

Big Tony has informed me that the cash machines are displaying exchange rates a lot lower than they should be. His showed 1.16 but he got 1.24 as arranged with his bank. To be sure, please check with your bank what rate you will get and also set a daily withdrawal amount.
