Had a nice day out on the beach again yesterday. Dirty Stopout eh! Well, we don't get many opportunities and this time of the year is the quiet peiod for us.
I think that people should now start to see that all the hype from the British media was nonsense and hopefully we'll get a few people back next year.
Situated in front of The Valais Hotel on Alykanas Beach, The Valais watersports are the optimum watersports in the area. George runs a tight ship and ensures that his equipment is up to scratch and all safety proceedures and legal requirements are in place, all to ensure that you have the optimum experience using the fantastic array of watersport equipment for hire here.
On the widest stretch of beach on the stunning Alykanas beach, the Valais offer sunbeds and parasols for hire at very reasonable rates and food and drinks are available at your sunbed, a menu available at the beach Gazebo!
A few pics from the sunbeds, far too relaxed to get up, Oh! and the sand was a little hot too.
The sea is at a perfect temperature now. Cool enough to be refreshing and warm enough not to shock you when you get in! Nothing better than drying off in the sun after a dip in that clear soothing water on a sunbed with an ice cold bottle of Amstel! mmmm!
Speedy pops round every now and then, with a trayfull of fresh fruit bowls on offer to keep you sustained. There's something nice about fruit that has been prepared for you! and these bowls hit the spot.
For those that don't know, our Wayne works here too! Well! if you can call it work. He has the best job in the world. Seriously though, Wayne is an asset to any business, he does the job, he's good with people and when there is nothing left to do, he always finds something to do. You never need to ask him to work. However, he does have a bit of an inflated opinion of his position here!
The Hoff Wayne! Not quite baywatch matey!
Have a look at the website for the Valais Watersports. If you want it at a later date you can find it on our handy website links page, but here it is for now

Marty and Janice arrived Thursday after losing Big T and Rab and families, it was great to know somebody else was incoming.
And on the same day, Denise and Brian, who's birthday it was, arrived too. Brian always comes here on his birthday now and he always has the Brezola steak, so we had one waiting for him!
What a monster eh! The steak that is, not our Brian!
Here they are enjoying the evening together.
Wiggy has landed. And here he is. Sadly he just missed mates Big Tony and all the other guys, but as long as he is here, we're happy.
Jeanette and John from shortieweb too, popped up to see us from Alykes. Staying at the Nikos Studios. They told me they are having a great time here and love it at the Nikos. Nice to meet you guys and thanks for coming down.
Always sad to see Tonybax and Rose go. They were here with Sister and Niece this time and it is their second visit this year. Look forward to seeing you both in September for the 3rd!
Well, internet playing up and it has taken ages to update today and I'm running late for the big roast cook thing, so, have to go. Have a great day.
Yesterdays Weather - Hot! 40 degs
Exchange rate in the resorts - 1.18e. Don't know why, but up a bit again. Still lower that the UK
ATM Watch - All working and operational.
Big Tony has informed me that the cash machines are displaying exchange rates a lot lower than they should be. His showed 1.16 but he got 1.24 as arranged with his bank. To be sure, please check with your bank what rate you will get and also set a daily withdrawal amount.
Mossie Watch - Average for the time of year! But not a problem to those who wear mossie stuff
If you are going to celebrate a birthday or any event at the Cosy Corner and you would like us to organise a Bananagram or a Blobbygram or even a cake, just click contact me and message me.
Note - Also, please remember to bring your EHIC card and read our advise on our "Coming here on holiday" Page.
Note - Please do not take any notice of the scaremongering about the Euro bailout at the momment. The transition will take months probably a year! not over night, and why would you believe that you cant change Euros to whatever the new currency will be! Do you think that Greece will not accept the Euro. No! The whole thing is rediculous.
Enjoy your well earned holiday and leave the worring to the politicians!
Note - Another thing! please bring sun lotion and creams with you. You will pay up to 20 euros for sun lotion here. Tesco or Asda must be better.
