Since my last post on the Village, I have spoken to many people, holiday makers, staff and holiday reps about the post. OK, maybe it was a little hard hitting but that is how people feel about it, that is how it is portrayed to me, the disapointment that they are going to lose something that is now so important to the area and such an important part in the peoples lives that holiday there year in and year out, and these people will not return if the deed is done.
I think the response has been great and that everybody has let all concerned know how you feel about it, the reviews online, the review books and directly people have told the staff that they want it to stay.
If I upset anybody on the way, it was not my intention and it doesn't matter, what matters is that you, voicing your opinion may make a difference. i believe that the owner and his staff know that what they have is unique and they can rely on returnees to help keep them afloat. The owner is a clever man and I think maybe he will see the right path and maybe take it now. Fingers crossed. Let's hope this great place stays a great place!
Here are a couple of pictures of the splashpark provided by the man himself!! PD.
This is part of what makes the Alykanas Village special to it's customers. If you visit and enjoy it, please let the staff know how important that it is to you and how much you appreciate what they do. Let us all hope that we can keep Alykanas Village as we all know it.
I have asked for a representitive to comment on shortieweb and answer questions about the complex, but I have had no reply as yet. I will keep trying.
Well! The weather. Never known it to feel so hot in June. Little breeze means that you can feel the temps soaring. I had the hottest kitchen experience since we have opened yesterday. It was seriously hot! and roast dinner day too!
See ya soon, to Dave, Val, Millie and Charlotte
And to the remaining 5 O'clockers, Zak and family
Cosy Corner Special - Sunday Roast Dinner
Yesterdays Weather - Hot and no breeze! 40 degs
Exchange rate in the resorts - 1.16e.
ATM Watch - All working and operational.
Big Tony has informed me that the cash machines are displaying exchange rates a lot lower than they should be. His showed 1.16 but he got 1.24 as arranged with his bank. To be sure, please check with your bank what rate you will get and also set a daily withdrawal amount.
Mossie Watch - Average for the time of year! But not a problem to those who wear mossie stuff
If you are going to celebrate a birthday or any event at the Cosy Corner and you would like us to organise a Bananagram or a Blobbygram or even a cake, just click contact me and message me.
Note - Also, please remember to bring your EHIC card and read our advise on our "Coming here on holiday" Page.
Note - Please do not take any notice of the scaremongering about the Euro bailout at the momment. The transition will take months probably a year! not over night, and why would you believe that you cant change Euros to whatever the new currency will be! Do you think that Greece will not accept the Euro. No! The whole thing is rediculous.
Enjoy your well earned holiday and leave the worring to the politicians!
Note - Another thing! please bring sun lotion and creams with you. You will pay up to 20 euros for sun lotion here. Tesco or Asda must be better.

The new mini waterpark looks a great addition. Do you know if they allow folks not staying at the village to use it as well (we arrive and will be staying next door at the AB from the 5th of July...and know a little girl (and a big boy!) who will love it!.
